Coffee Exchange

Each month the Escondido Chamber invites community members, civic leaders, and others to exchange information with Chamber members. This is an informal, small group setting.

We welcome our Education Committee Meeting featuring guest speaker Brian Head, Principal of the Escondido Adult School. He will be discussing the Escondido Union High School Adult Education program which is celebrating its 50th Anniversary this year!

Brian was educated in the UK earning a degree in economics and a post-graduate certificate in education. One wet February, he saw an advertisement for a teaching position in Bermuda. Much to his surprise he got the job and taught at high schools on that island in the middle of the Atlantic for seven years. He was also approached and recruited to teach in the evenings at the local adult school which he found he greatly enjoyed. After arriving in the US, he soon started with Escondido Adult School as a part-time teacher and has served there in various roles for almost 30 years. He remains passionate about the value of adult education to individuals, their families, and the greater community.
