Community Awareness: Naloxone (Narcan) Training

The Greater Escondido Chamber of Commerce in conjunction with Mental Health Systems and TURN Behavioral Health Services is proud to host a very important community awareness event on the fentanyl crisis. This FREE Naloxone/Narcan training class will be led by William Perno, a prevention specialist with the Harm Reduction Coalition of San Diego.

According to Mr. Perno, "It’s important to know what an opioid overdose looks like." He will share information about the opioid epidemic – for instance, four of 10 fake prescription pills seized by law enforcement hold enough fentanyl to be lethal – and instruct attendees on how to use Naloxone.

This training is dedicated to the memory of Kai Atesalp, a young Escondido resident who recently died from fentanyl poisoning. The threat to our community and our youth is real - please attend this FREE event - and learn how you can make a difference and save lives.

Each attendee will also receive a free naloxone/narcan emergency aid kit.
