Government Affairs Committee

The Chamber's Government Affairs Committee works to create and sustain a favorable business environment in which all businesses can grow and prosper through the monitoring of legislation and influencing of governmental decisions on behalf of the interests of our members. This committee provides a basis for the Chamber to act on local, state, and federal governmental issues and evaluate political candidates.

This month: 

Escondido City Treasurer Douglas Shultz

Douglas Shultz was elected as Escondido's City Treasurer in 2016 and is finishing his second term and will be on the ballot this November for his 3rd term as Escondido City Treasurer. He is a fiscal conservative and advocates for transparent government. In addition to being the City Treasurer he also is the CFO of a Yorkshire Wealth Management which he helped found in 2015. Mr. Shultz recently received the prestigious Chartered Market Technician designation and is registered with the SEC. Mr. Shultz has 3 kids and in his free time he is active in Rotary, Jiu Jitsu and surfing.
Mr. Shultz will be presenting an in depth look at the financial state of the city.
